Woven Kin is for those who value the beauty in simple things: a soft rug underfoot when you step out of bed; a cherished heirloom passed down through generations; a celebration of tradition that harkens back to a time when artists wove a piece of themselves into their wares.

It’s about magical connections formed across time and over oceans—stories shared through tactile art.

We’re a small shop based in Hamilton, Ontario where we curate a unique collection of handmade, vintage items and well-crafted contemporary pieces from all over the world, with a focus on color, craftsmanship, sustainability and design that transcends time.

Your home is the story of who you are. Our products act as vessels to bring character, warmth and beauty to that story through treasured, one-of-a-kind items that have stood the test of time.

Woven Kin was established in 2017 by Candice Schrock, a fashion designer and longtime lover of old things, textiles, and everything handmade. Her eye for design and passion for color has gained Woven Kin a loyal following as a trusted source for rare, one-of-a-kind vintage rugs, sustainable home furnishings, and design inspiration.

About Candice

My love of textiles goes back as far as I can remember. In some of my earliest memories, I’m sitting on the floor watching in awe as my mother and grandma transform bolts of colorful fabric into one of a kind clothing for me and my siblings. It was in that room, surrounded by boxes of fabric and patterns, that I first fell in love with design.

After 17 years of pursuing dreams in the apparel design industry, I grew increasingly uneasy with the disposable nature of fashion. My obsession with interiors, sustainability and well-crafted remnants of the past eventually gave birth to Woven Kin.

Every decision we make here at Woven Kin is driven by my passion for bringing timeless beauty into the home while finding a way to live in harmony with the natural world.
